That was a day of celebration. On January 14 Tomasz Stanko was awarded two prestigious prizes.
Paszport Polityki (Polityka’s Passport) is an annual prestigious Polish award presented by the weekly magazine Polityka. Tomasz Stanko was prized in a special category, “Creator of Culture”, given for an outstanding contribution to the promotion of culture. He was awarded for creating a unique style, work and interact in the arts, the ability to reconcile tradition and avant-garde. For expanding the boundaries of jazz and at the same time broadening its audience.

The same day in Paris l’Académie du jazz chaired by François Lacharme, awarded its prize for the year 2013. Tomasz Stanko was prized Prix du Musicien Européen rewarded for his work and recent events.
